Almost done with the goal of 100 Seedlings in a week for @designercon . (Whew!) This video covers the airbrushing step with my trusty @iwata_airbrush Each Seedling gets many layers of paint. The white & gold Seedlings get 7 separate layers – some brushed on, some airbrushed on. I’m such a factory right now. Trying to cast & paint over 100 Seedlings in a 1 week ? Due to some animation freelance gigs, I’m very unprepared for @designercon ! Videos at actual speed haha. Just went camping at Samuel P. Taylor State Park with @jopumpkins & Ben. It was beautiful! Amazing to sleep under giant redwoods only an hour from Oakland. She works in healing & social justice and he’s a rocket scientist – needless to say – great talks. Fun silliness ensued! I’m more geared up now (I’m looking at you Jetboil!). Just came back from camping! Not where these photos were taken – these were from the last @waywardretreats. At the retreat, I promised myself I would get into the wilderness every month. #TBT …back in the day when I used to hand-sculpt every Seedling! And use real seedpods (or branches in this case). This style of Seedling w/ branches is aptly named “Twig”. It’s the soul of a young maple tree in the Spiritus Kingdom. I’ve been thinking of sculpting some new Seedlings varieties. Think Twig should make a come back?
