#100drawingsproject 18/100 “Growth” – I think I’m unleashing my inner Aughra…

I thought I’d post a little about my creative process on this piece. Attached to this post there are a few thumbnails I did before going to final. Thumbanil A – this is a pretty literal representation of the growth idea. Then I jump to Thumbanil B a highly graphic version of the concept. I played around with that for awhile before taking another turn and going with a more rendered style in the inked final that I’ve posted here. This version is a little realistic but also very abstract. (on the final this is only the 2nd time I’ve inked with a brush & I love, love ink and brush)

This style jumping is a good example of how I can be a little spastic art style-wise. For each piece, it’s hard for me to decide what style to go with. I blame my commercial art career. It’s created an ability for me to jump around in styles but then I don’t feel I rooted in “my” style.
