Hands Up Don’t Shoot PDX

The speeches in front of the Justice Center in Portland tonight were so inspiring. Their powerful words demanded a stop to sanctioned violence against black communities. In addition, they focused on intersectionality of justice – race, class, immigration, a living wage (not much about gender but we’ll get there). Their words conveyed unification. That the fight for justice touches us all… because most of the bigotry stems from the same horrible tree. My words not theirs, it’s just how the speeches made me feel.

It made me excited to become more engaged – intersectional feminist activism is calling my name.
